 Alternative rockers' Dig Lazarus self-released their debut LP, Don't Threaten Me with A Good Time this past Frida y  (October 15th) The follow up to 2019's EP Figure It Out was produced by Dave Draper (The Wildhearts) and features some special guests in the guise of EODM frontman Jesse Hughes and The Virgin Mary's Ally Dickaty. The album is ten years of hard work for long time friends, Vocalist Ash Tustain, drummer/percussionist Jack Cotterill and the spectacularly named bassist/vocalist Atticus Hall Mcnair hail from Nuneaton, England. The band's anthemic rock boasts plenty of catchy choruses and meaty riffs to keep one happy. The aforementioned Mr Hughes opens things with a humorous sermon, declaring to his congregation "You don't threaten me with a good time " soon segues into the solid rocker "Road Runner", a singalong track with pulsating riffs to get the album off to a good start. French Metalcore outfit Primal Age burst onto the scene with M asked Enemy via WTF Records, A follow up to 2017's EP Silent Wound. the band hail from Normandy and was first formed in 1993. The band combine groove-laden riffs with pummeling drums and death growl vocals in the cause of animal rights, vegetarianism and human rights. They consist of vocalist Didier, bassist Dmitri, drummer Rudy and guitarists Florian and Benoit. The album opens with a spoken word intro that segues into the eerie "Wise Old Men", a slow, menacing build that combusts into a full-throttle snarl. Next up is "The Devil Is Hidden In Shadow", an equally apoplectic track with abrasive riffs, long double harmonic passages, and double blast beats that will leave the listener empathetic with the cause.   French Creole singer Prana Songbird returns with "The River" featuring Blues guitarist Randy Stephens.   Wigan's own female-fronted Rock band Bastette release the sophomore EP  Exposed  this Friday (September 17th) via RPM records. The pop/rock act combines gritty lyrical content, powerful melodies and pop stylings to create a five-track EP that covers themes such as love, betrayal, control and manipulation. The EP was produced by Gareth Nuttall at The Lounge Recording Studio in Wigan. The opener "Stand Back" is a dark pop track with a strong message behind the track. Vocalist Catherine Kenyon sings over pounding drums and an eerie electronic ambience. Next up is "Talk About It", a gritty track with Kenyon sounding like a defiant woman in the face of adversity. Bastette writes original songs with raw passion and empathy to drive such aforementioned issues to the listener. Kenyon comes across as a competent frontwoman unafraid to open up.  Blues trio Shaw Davis and The Black Ties return with their third studio album Red Sun Rebellion , released via Sony Orchard Music. The outfit has revitalized the usual stripped-back blues with an edgy rock sound, heavily influenced by bands like Rage Against The Machine, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. The nine-track record was produced by Grammy-award winning producer Paul Nelson (Johnny Winter).  The album starts with the upbeat lead single "Higher", a good choice for radio airplay sees Davis improve his vocals to harmonize over a bombastic riff. Next up is "Heart To Steal" with another uptempo track that shows how far the performers have grown in the past three years. The swinging rhythmic patterns give a raw sense of a boogie-blues number. Davis sounds like he is in his element with incendiary guitar licks and breaks that signal the band's new direction.
